Overflowing Dams

I looked at the lakes. Though calm and serene, they were filling fast; rising in level. Soon they would overflow. Damn, I thought. Not again. I stood up and took out my handkerchief. Putting my hand forward I said, “Please don’t cry.”

The white lakes looked at me, said goodbye and left.

I rejoiced silently.
